For the time being, it appears like the NBA Super Team era is coming to an end. The league has seen five different teams win championships in the last five years, following the Denver Nuggets’ 2023 victory. Since six different teams won the championship between 1980 and 1975, this is the NBA’s longest string of young talent at the top. The title can be decided in free agency in a league that feels entirely unpredictable. Since players will start trading publicly on June 30, the stakes are very high.

When they reached a deal with unrestricted free agent guard Bruce Brown last summer, the Nuggets made a significant acquisition. Denver also completed a huge transaction by exchanging Will Barton and Monte Morris for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from the Washington Wizards. The squad that makes the best offseason moves and is prepared for an attractive free agent pool will be crowned the 2024 champion.

An impressive collection of veterans and many young players who might offer potential for the future are among the big names in this year’s free agent crop. While all four of James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Draymond Green, and Khris Middleton are set to join the open market, they all want to stay with their respective teams. See our ranking of the top 75 available players in the league this summer. Among the most famous players to transfer teams are Kyle Kuzma and Fred VanVleet.
